NSWIPP presents the Isla Lonie Memorial Lecture

Isla Lonie Memorial Lecture

The Continuing Professional Development committee is pleased to invite you to a
presentation entitled

ALL BEHAVIOUR HAS MEANING:
Exploring the Implications and Applications of Psychoanalytic
Understanding

Presented by Ann Cebon
Saturday November 12, 2016 at 9.00am for 9.30am start
Woolcock Institute, 431 Glebe Point Road

This Presentation will begin with a clinical anecdote that Isla Lonie shared at a PPAA meeting in the
1980’s, which will set the stage for the development of the ideas in this paper. This anecdote has its roots in the clinical understanding of Donald Winnicott, the British pediatrician and psychoanalyst, whose writing was central to Isla’s work. As well as Winnicott, the work of Esther Bick, Wilfred Bion, Donald Meltzer and Sigmund Freud will be referred to in an exploration of human and psychoanalytic curiosity.
