NSWIPP -Post Graduate Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Friday, October 26, 2018
The NSW Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is offering a Training in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy to commence in 2019.
Applicants should have a background in psychiatry, social work, psychology or other relevant disciplines and have had at least two years clinical experience working with patients.
This Training has been designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes of trainees, in order for them to have the capacity to work as psychoanalytic psychotherapists. The seminar component of the training extends over four years commencing with Infant Observation and orientation to the course in 2019, followed by theoretical and clinical seminars in 2020. On successful completion of the Infant Observation, trainees may begin their supervised clinical case-work.
As part of the program, Trainees are required to undertake concurrent personal psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis with an approved therapist and will have individual supervision of their clinical work by senior members of NSW Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. It is important that trainees are established in therapy before the commencement of training.
